family history PACKAGES
I offer a range of packages at a fixed price to suit a variety of budgets and individual requirements, potentially taking your ancestors back by up to at least four generations. Each package price is inclusive of a set number of birth, marriage and death certificates. I can provide bespoke packages should you wish to go further back than four generations. All research begins at the person of your choice (ie yourself, parent, grandparent, Aunt, etc) or the choice of the person you are gifting a Family History Report or Gift Certificate to. For the purpose of illustrating what my packages include, the starting person will be referred to below as the "Named Person".
Packages assume that as a minimum, birth, marriage, and death certificates are available for the "Named Person" and their parents, as appropriate. If this is not the case, additional research (at an additional cost) may be required to obtain these in order to achieve the goals of a particular package. This will not go ahead without your prior consent.
In most cases, work can start with very little information. For example, knowing roughly when and where your ancestor was born, or the full name of whom they married can be enough to begin. My standard packages assume that we are tracing your ancestors from scratch, generally from a starting point in the early 20th or late 19th century (based on a Family History Questionnaire). If you wish to start with an earlier or later date, please let me know and I can tailor a solution to meet your requirements. You can add extra research time for me to try and work back further, or to add extra detail. If you are unable to find a package that meets your needs, please contact me as I can easily mix and match packages or focus on a specific area of research, creating bespoke packages to fit your requirements.

Researching your family history is a great way to learn about your ancestors including how and where they lived, and they also make a very special gift to give to loved ones. ​All packages offer a 'simple' Family History Report which includes the following as a minimum, providing this information can be found :

Names of your ancestors

The story of each ancestor detailing whom they married, where they lived, and what they did for a living.

Military and service records for those that served in World War I

Official birth and marriage certificates, and death certificates which include cause of death.

Professional Family Tree charts for the ancestors included in your package

Family photographs (provided by the client)

Copies & extracts of all relevant census return found during research for direct ancestors (1841-1911)

Copies & extracts of historic documents (e.g. service records, parish register entries)

​Family stories are captured wherever possible to bring your ancestry to life

Your Family History Report will be professionally researched and beautifully presented, and will be delivered digitally, and if required one printed copy bound in plastic covering will be provided . You can upgrade to a hardback book, making these an ideal gift. Prices start at £40 and will increase in accordance with the number of pages contained within the report.

My enhanced reports are included in the Platinum+ package as standard, and will include additional research (only where available and found) such as details from a family will, siblings, spouses, and children, transcriptions of parish documents, directories, newspaper articles, criminal records, education, occupational records, and any information contained in manorial records. Once again you can upgrade at an extract cost, from the 'simple' report to the enhanced report.
It may not always be possible to provide images of original documents found online or some of the records mentioned within the report, because of website copyright restrictions and in particular, civil registration documents held on the GRO website. Where this is the case, a transcription of the information will be provided.

If requested, I can include members of your immediate family on any pedigree charts so that a family tree shows descent from a living person too, informed consent must be obtained from anyone living, who is to appear in the report.
